Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ProBook+ ("ProBook+", "we", "us"), a bookkeeping service based in Austin, Texas. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. The service

ProBook+ lets you record, categorize and report on your personal, business and rental property finances, connect bank and card accounts through SimpleFIN, and connect an AI assistant of your choosing to read and update your own records.

2. Not professional advice

ProBook+ is software. It is not a tax preparer, accountant, attorney or financial advisor, and nothing in the service — including categories, Schedule E mappings, reports or anything an AI assistant produces — is tax, legal or financial advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of your books and your tax filings. Have a qualified professional review anything you file.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 18 and give accurate sign-up information.
• Keep your password and any connected AI assistant secure. Activity under your account is your responsibility.
• Each account is for one person or household. Don't share logins.

4. Subscription and payment

• New accounts get a 30-day free trial, one per person. A payment card is required to start it. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged the yearly price on that day.
• ProBook+ is billed yearly in advance through Stripe at the price shown when you subscribe, plus any applicable sales tax. Your subscription renews automatically each year until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime from the Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid year; we don't give partial refunds for unused time, except where required by law.
• We may change prices for future renewals. We'll tell you before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
• If a payment fails, you can still read your records but can't add or change them until billing is resolved.
• SimpleFIN (bank sync) and your AI assistant are separate services billed by their own providers.

5. Your data

Your financial records belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Third-party services

ProBook+ relies on third parties, including Base44 (hosting), Stripe (payments), SimpleFIN (bank data) and any AI assistant you connect. We aren't responsible for their availability, accuracy or actions. Bank data from SimpleFIN can be delayed, incomplete or occasionally wrong — check important figures against your statements. Anything your AI assistant does in your account happens at your direction.

7. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to access other users' data, interfere with the service, reverse-engineer or copy it, or use it for anything illegal.

8. Termination

You can stop using ProBook+ at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your records.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, tax penalties or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
